Student Success

Level 3 Professional Cookery student James Tomkins has secured a fantastic role at The French, a fine dining restaurant located within landmark Manchester hotel, The Midland. It is run by much-celebrated chef Adam Reid and boasts 4 AA Rosettes. Adam personally hand-picked James to join their team after impressing the chef with his skills, and he was offered a permanent position three weeks into his work placement.

Former Lymm High School student James says, "This opportunity is the best thing I have ever done. I’m constantly learning on the job.”

Ambitious James is setting his sights on even bigger goals for the future. He says, “I’d like to work my way up, continue building up my knowledge and eventually run my own restaurant.”
