Class 9/29: For every day this week (Monday - Friday), come up with 3 ways that Allah SWT has shown you mercy that day, and 1 way you showed mercy to yourself or someone/something else around you.
Write them down on a sheet of paper and bring them to class next week for 20 tickets.
Also, try to practice and review the Arabic and English we covered of the first two verses. (We are using a simplified translation you can find in the Class Resources.)
Surat Al-Fatihah
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
Thanks to Allah, Lord of Everything
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
The One full of Mercy, the One who gives the Most Mercy.
.Class 9/22: We covered the first Ayah of Surat Al-Fatihah.
We memorized and reviewed the first verse in Arabic and memorized the English translation of the verse.
We did an in class writing activity reflecting on the meaning of the first verse and came up with various things we should be grateful to Allah for and how to worship the "Lord of Everything".
Class 9/29: We covered the second Ayah of Surat Al-Fatihah.
We memorized and reviewed the second verse in Arabic and memorized the English translation of the verse. We also went back and reviewed the first verse and the students were assessed in groups on both verses.
We did an in class activity in pairs to come up with ways to reflect on how Allah shows us mercy and how we can show mercy to those close to us.
