As-salaamu Alaikum,
Insha’Allah, on Sunday, November 16th, our school community will participate in a Day of Service. This special event is an opportunity for students to engage in meaningful, hands-on projects that promote compassion, teamwork, and civic responsibility.
Each class will take part in a designated service activity. This year, students will be preparing meals and assembling hygiene kits for the unhoused, which will be distributed in downtown San Jose in collaboration with Hands That Care, a local organization dedicated to supporting those in need.
In addition, one of our classes will be making blankets for children who spend extended periods in the hospital. These handmade blankets will be delivered to the Pediatrics Unit at Valley Medical Center on Bascom Avenue, insha’Allah.
For Seeds and Roots, we would like each family to sign up for an item to bring - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17gVL6B9NTGj0Y8C9nge0KYRG2s9Ffp9N8BBFI_4CDFs/edit?usp=sharing
For the Sprouts and Stems class participating in the blanket distribution or the hygiene kits, we are collecting 20.00 per family to cover the cost of the items being purchased. Please Venmo to @Roohina-Diwan or paypal to rdiwan.zaafran@gmail.com. If zelle is the only option (not preferred) please zelle to Ahmed Zaafran 281-235-4070.
We pray that this initiative strengthens our students’ sense of gratitude and empathy, and that Allah (SWT) accepts their efforts as an act of service and kindness
