Equipment used in the training program must be of the type and quality found to provide training to meet the program goals and performance objectives. The facilities must be appropriate for the variety of learning activities which occur in the LPS classrooms.
STORAGE SPACE
The storage area of both classrooms in D2 and I6 are somewhat adequate. I6 has minimal storage space and limited floor space as it is a small industrial classroom. There are locked cabinets in I6.
D2 has 8 large locked storage cabinets. However due to the amount of equipment and supplies there is a limited amount of space. There is plenty of floor space but that takes away from students to use for projects when needed.
All storage, somewhat limited, is clean and neat and organized.
PROGRAM SPACE
Both D2 and I6 meets or exceeds state requirements. Our actionable plan is in place to meet such requirements.
Facilities are clean, organized and well maintained. Each instructor has adequate personal space to plan and work. Each teacher is assigned a conveniently located, furnished, and equipped area (office) for planning, confidential record keeping, private consultation, and administration.
The classroom is clean, orderly and reflective of an efficient environment for learning. The layout of the LPS classroom is suitable for large/small group, team and individual high school student work. However, Room I6 is not suitable for large/small group, team and individual high school student work.
The square footage of the classrooms meets or exceeds state recommendations. See the website regarding this info.
The square foot of Room D2 is: 39.5 ft x 27.5 ft. = 1086.3 sq. ft.
The square foot of Room I6 is: 20.5 ft x 25.5 ft. = 502.25 sq. ft.

Auditorium
The LPS lab and/or classroom are equipped with updated and functional equipment.
Appropriate, up-to-date multi-media equipment and hardware such as flip charts, TV Monitor, speakers, interactive projectors, digital cameras, video cameras, Chromebooks and other emerging instructional technologies are readily available to the classroom. Appropriate equipment replacement plan is available.
Classroom instructional technology is updated, functional and available
The WUHS IT department and the Curriculum Director makes sure that all instructional technology is updated. Surveys are sent out often to make sure that technology software and hardware are met.
Students have adequate technology to meet program goals and prepare students for LPS careers
Technology in both classrooms include a 65" monitor. Surround sound speakers, WIFI, Lap top and desk top computers for instruction. Each students have their own Chromebook device which they take home with them.
Policy for student check-out of equipment
Uniforms and loaned out equipment are to be signed out for with appropriate signatures.
Tools and equipment mirror what is used in industry appropriate to skills being taught
Training plastic and rubber handguns are used and various levels of duty belts are used. PR24 training batons and striking bags are used. The Virtra forced options simulator is of current technology of which is used by many LE agencies in the nation. It is state of the equipment. The tasers, handguns, holsters and belts that are used for the simulator are that used in industry training. Crime scene equipment and supplies are of those used in law enforcement agencies.
Alfredo learning the art of defensive weapons, specifically the PR24 Baton.
Program spaces are safe and have proper safety equipment
Both classrooms contain fire safety equipment which include fire extinguishers, fire alarms and fire sprinkler systems. Students are trained their sophomore year on how to use the fire extinguisher. Classroom D2 is the larger class room. The square footage is sufficent for a classoom of up to 40 students with room for other activities. Room I6 is a very small classroom. It can only serve approximately 20 students safely without room for additional activities. This classroom is used for the Forced Option Simulator. Desks need to be moved to accomodate the use of this equipment. Both Classrooms have two exits.
Forensics labs follow proper science lab safety policies
There are no labs for this program.
Accident Reporting
Fresno County Office of Education School Accident Report

Students and staff are aware of emergency procedures

Chemicals/combustibles are located and stored properly
No chemicals are stored in the classroom as their are no labs.
Classroom and laboratory meet all state and federal safety requirements
