Grading
Major Assessments – 75% (Tests, Projects)
We will average 6 tests a marking period. Tests make up the majority of the major assessment grade and consist of 50-75 multiple-choice questions and an AAQ or an EBQ. You will have an entire block to finish a test but you cannot take longer than a block. It is important that you get used to the timing so you are prepared for the AP Exam in May. My tests are structured to model the official AP Exam.
You must take tests on the assigned day. We are on a tight schedule. If you are absent it is your responsibility to keep up with us. Our schedule is updated daily on Google Classroom so you can stay with the class! No excuses!
There will be 2 projects in each marking period that will also be a part of your major assessment grade. If I request a hard copy do not email your assignment and vice versa.
Minor Assessments – 25% (packets, quizzes, HW, CW, Class participation)
For each group of modules you will be responsible for vocabulary/application of terms that will be due on the day of each test. Late vocabulary will be accepted one day late with a maximum grade of a 75. Vocabulary is not accepted after one day late. This helps to reinforce your reading and my class lecture/discussion.
Vocabulary and quizzes are weighted double
You are also expected to read and be prepared to discuss the content we will be covering in class each day.
