Homework is each student’s responsibility. Completing homework, and practicing signs daily MUST be a priority. It is understood that the completion of homework teaches content and skills, as well as accountability and responsibility.
The purpose of homework is to:
1. Preview (Preparation): Providing opportunity to gain background information to be better prepared for future lessons.
2. Review (Practice): Help students to master specific knowledge and skills/signs that have been presented in class.
3. Creative (Extension): Students use their unique talents and ideas to express themselves.
Grading Policy
All homework assignments must be “turned in” (or marked as done) in the Google Classroom by 7:30 AM the following day. Long term assignments may have different due dates and times.
● If a student does not turn in an assignment, a zero (0) is posted in the grade book until the assignment is handed in.
● If an assignment is turned in one day late, the graded assignment will be lowered by 10 points.
● If an assignment is turned in two days late, the graded assignment will be lowered by 20 points.
● If an assignment is turned in three days late, the graded assignment will be lowered by 30 points; however, the lowest grade that will be posted in the grade book is a 50% if a true attempt was made.
● Assignments will not be accepted after the three day grace period, resulting in a grade of zero, unless specific arrangements have been made prior.
