¡Bienvenidos a Español 2R! Spanish 2R builds on the skills students developed in Spanish 1 and gives them more opportunities to use Spanish in meaningful, practical, and engaging ways. Throughout the course, students will strengthen their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while expanding their vocabulary and grammar. Learning will include conversations, partner and group activities, games, music, videos, cultural connections, and real-world tasks that encourage students to actually use the language. Students will practice the interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational modes of communication as they become more comfortable expressing themselves in Spanish. Our classroom is a supportive and interactive environment where students are encouraged to participate, collaborate, ask questions, take risks, and learn from one another. The goal is for students to leave Spanish 2R with greater confidence, stronger communication skills, and a deeper appreciation for the people and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. ¡Continuaremos aprendiendo y hablando español!

Preparados.  You are expected to have your Chromebook (charged!), writing utensil, notebook, textbook, and homework.  Those are the only items that should be on your desk! No bags, books, or notebooks for other classes! 

Do-Now:  Upon arrival, I will greet you and there will be a task for you to complete on the board.  Please read the directions and start as soon as you enter the classroom. You will complete the Hacer Ahora on a Google Doc, which will be graded at the end of the week. You are not required to complete the Hacer Ahora on a day that you are not present in class.

Tarea.  Homework is due BEFORE class on Google Classroom - there will be posted dates and times! If you submit it after the posted time, it is considered late. Assignments are minus 10 points each day late. You may turn an assignment in for a late grade (-10 points each day). You have 2 days to complete assignments if you are absent (thus if you are absent for 2 days, you have 4 days to complete the assignments).

Salir de la clase. Only one person may use the restroom at a time – make sure you have your ID!  You must be seated and waiting until the bell rings for dismissal at the end of class.

*Electrónicos.  Usage of electronic devices (Air pods, headphones, iPods, tablets, cellphones, etc.) ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE CLASSROOM
