Spanish 1 Spring 2027

¡Bienvenidos a Español 1! Spanish 1 is an engaging introductory course designed to help students build confidence communicating in Spanish while discovering the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. Throughout the semester, students will learn through meaningful and interactive activities including conversations, partner and group work, games, music, videos, cultural experiences, reading, writing, and real-world communication tasks. Students will develop their skills in the three modes of communication—interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational—as they learn to understand Spanish, communicate with others, and express their own ideas. Our classroom is a supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to participate, collaborate, ask questions, take risks, and learn from one another. By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundation in Spanish and the confidence to use the language in familiar, everyday situations while developing an appreciation for the diverse cultures and communities of the Spanish-speaking world.
