Hello my name is Maureen Hughes and this is my first year teaching with Washington Township Public Schools. I've previously taught as a preschool teacher at a private provider for three years, and have a BA degree from Stockton University. I grew up in a home of two elementary school educators and having a young son myself I know how important early childhood education is, and how it sets the tone for each child’s future love of learning. I enjoy watching my students make connections and learn, it's my goal to always provide a safe and inviting environment for them to learn and grow. I wish nothing more than for my students to leave my class having felt good about themselves and the job they did each day. I'm excited for this new opportunity working with Washington Township Public Schools and am grateful for the ability to continue my love of teaching for years to come.
Hi, I’m Susan Gorgodian! I have been teaching for over twenty years, and I’ve been with Cadence Academy since 2014. For the past two school years, I’ve been voted “Teacher of the Year.” Before joining the Cadence Academy Preschool family, I taught grades ranging from Preschool to 7h grade. However, preschool is my favorite grade to teach. As as a teacher, it’s my mission to instill a love for learning and I teach with passion so that my students develop a desire to become life-long learners. I received my bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Rowan University and my master’s degree in educational leadership from Neumann University. I also hold both Elementary and Preschool Certifications with the State of New Jersey. Outside of school, I enjoy taking yoga classes, going to Phillies games, and spending time with my husband Wes and our two cats Timothy and Elizabeth.
My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and
have something special that they can bring to their own
education. It is my desire to create a stimulating atmosphere
where students can meet their full potential and grow physically,
mentally, emotionally, and socially. I will assist my students to
express themselves and accept themselves for who they are, as
well as embrace the differences of others. I will provide a safe
environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks.
