This course is designed for students to explore the fundamentals of Graphic Design and Desktop Publishing. This course will focus on the software and techniques that are used to create the artwork and elements that go into printed products or web pages. The software involved in the course projects includes photo editing, image design and generation, page layout, and elementary animation software.

IND3133 Graphic Printing 1

1 Semester  0.5 creditO’Plaine Campus: 9-10; Prerequisite: None
In this course students will have an opportunity to explore the Graphic Design and Printing Industry. The Graphic Design work involves software to create personal designs. Screen printing equipment will then be used to turn the personal designs into printed products such as T-shirts.

IND3135 Graphic Printing 2

1 Semester  0.5 creditO’Plaine Campus: 9-10; Prerequisite: Graphic Printing I or Graphic Design.
In this course students will have an opportunity to take a more in-depth look into the Graphic Design and Printing Industry. The Graphic Design work will continue to involve software to create personal designs. The main focus will be using more advanced Screen Printing and Offset Press Printing processes to turn the designs into printed products.

IND3237 Graphic Printing 3

1 Semester  0.5 creditO’Plaine Campus: 10; Prerequisite: Graphic Printing II.
This is a course designed for those students who would like to further their investigation into a career in graphic design or printing. This course will continue to explore graphic design techniques. The course will also focus on the processes necessary to produce multiple color screen printing and offset press products.

This course is designed for the students who are interested in the Graphic Communication or Packaging Engineering Industry. Students will learn through hands on activities in the area of screen printing and packaging design. This course is designed to introduce students to the various career opportunities associated with printing, packaging design and packaging engineering. Course content will be taught using a combination of lecture, demonstration and hands-on lab activities.

IND3115 Digital Video Production

1 Semester  0.5 creditO’Plaine Campus: 9-10; Prerequisite: None
Throughout this course, students will learn to utilize editing software to create dynamic videos. Students will learn about the history of broadcasting and its effects on society. Students will operate cameras and tripods while learning different techniques to create a visually appealing product. The course will also enable the students to edit their own videos while adding soundtracks, voiceovers, and special effects. Students will be using industry standard editing software and equipment.

IND3370 DIY (Do-It-Yourself)

1 Semester  0.5 creditAlmond Campus: 11-12; Prerequisite: None
Do-It-Yourself. This course was developed to prepare students for life skills needed to utilize basic home tools and equipment. Students will research and construct projects like furniture, signs, and toys found on DIY media like Pinterest and HGTV as well as solve practical home maintenance challenges.

IND3191 Architecture & Interior Design 1

1 Semester  0.5 creditBoth Campuses: 9-10-11-12Prerequisite: Introduction to Architecture and Engineering or Jr./ Sr. status.
This course is designed for students who want to continue their interest in the area of architecture and interior design. This course will continue to emphasize CAD techniques, as well as explore guidelines of residential home design. Units of study include the history of architecture, principles of design, room by room planning, floor plan development, and architectural model making. Virtual reality environments will be explored.

IND3181 Engineering 1

1 Semester 0.5 credit; Both Campuses: 9-10-11-12Prerequisite: Introduction to Architecture & Engineering or Jr./Sr. status.
The focus of this course is on the Engineering process. Students will use computer software as well as other equipment needed to research, design & construct projects. Projects will be based in both 2D & 3D computer aided design. Students will work on modeling parts, creating assemblies, as well as building physical models and prototypes. Students pursuing any technical field are encouraged to enroll in this course.
