Each institution has coordinated a panel of instructors and students to allow for a first-hand look at college life through the lens of a college student. During this panel, questions can be asked about the program, the college, adjusting to the college life, opportunities to get involved in as a college student, as well as many more worthwhile topics.
Both UW-Platteville and UW-Stout have strong and active TEECA (Technology Engineering Education Collegiate Associations). TEECA students participate in a number of activities, both on and off campus, in preparation for joining the field of teaching.
Students attend the WTEA and/or the ITEEA (International Technology Education Association) Conferences; where they can network with Technology Education Teachers from across the state and nation, Industry Representatives, and other Partners.
Students may find opportunities to compete against other college preparatory programs from across the nation through various competitions and events. These opportunities strengthen students in skills and academic knowledge.
TEECA students also assist with hosting various SkillsUSA and ChallengeUSA events. These events can take place at their college or at various other facilities across the state. One of the largest events that TEECA Students assist with every year, is the State SkillsUSA Championships in Madison, WI.
WTEA Student Ambassadors will have the opportunity to meet the Professors at each institution. Both Universities have an excellent staff of educators to prepare the next generation of teachers. Get the opportunity to meet them during the visit.
Campus tours of other academic buildings, as well as dorm facilities, will be visited during the tour. Both institutions have State-of-the-Art training labs, equipped with the latest in teaching technology education. See them in person and have the opportunity to ask questions.
During the visit, each institution will have personal and information on-hand to inform students and parents how college registration works. There will even be time to fill out a college application during each visit.
