Lecture / Lab / Assessment:
Delivery of your lecture will be with a presentation such as a PowerPoint, PREZI, video, or other similar platform
Create 4 – 5 questions to be used as a Socratic assessment to assess the class' understanding.
Prepare all the materials needed to teach the lesson
Teach the lesson to your mentoring teacher as though they have learned the material already, but need a review of the topics covered.
Be sure to think about the following things:
Write at least two questions in your lesson plan that might be used to determine the prior knowledge that your students might already possess, related to your topic.
Write at least five questions that you might ask to assess your students' knowledge as the lesson unfolds.
Remember, when teachers ask students "Why?" or to explain their reasoning for an answer, the overall understanding will increase and deepen.
Think about how you will structure your time. Estimate how much time each item in your presentation will take.
How will the room be arranged? Where will the students be located? Will there be any issues with students being distracted?
What technology will you need and do you know how to use it properly?
