Inspiration and Conceptualization: I got the idea for my wire sculpture portrait because of my love for the streamer Charlie, better known as "MoistCr1TiKaL". I have liked him for many years. He is someone that I watch very frequently, and this passion for him and his videos caused me to pick him as my subject for my sculpture. The reason I chose the name "A Little Too Moist" is because his online name includes the word "moist" and the sculpture looks a little deformed. Therefore, the name implies that he melted from being too hot.
Creation and Execution: First, I got a printed picture of Charlie. I outlined the main lines that I wanted to include in my sculpture. Then, I began constructing the base by sanding it down. After it was fully sanded, I painted it black. Then, after that was dry, I started manipulating the thicker wire to fit around the bigger outlines. I then used the thinner wire to create the details on his face and clothes. Finally, I screwed the sculpture into the stand and it was complete.
Reflection and Growth: This was my first time working with wire, so I learned a lot. There were a few issues with my technique, so I practiced my problem-solving skills as well. If I could do the project again, I would spend more time sculpting. I am not completely satisfied with my outcome. I think it was a good project to complete, though, and I learned many new things.
