FIrst Grade Week 33

June 7-14

Our last slides for the year! We have some fun activities planned with some of the teachers from Academy School this week. Let's have fun!

FIrst Grade Week 32

June 1-4

It is a short week! We don't have a meeting on Tuesday but I will see everyone on Wednesday at 9:00. You have some letters to try writing this week!

First Grade Week 31

May 24-28

We have a fun week planned! Don't forget to look for the moon at night and fill in your moon journal. We also have 2 field trips to school this week. Yay!

First Grade Week 30

May 17-21

This week we will begin to plan our garden at school. You will also listen to a star gazing story and another Cinder tale.

First Grade Week 29

May 10-17

It is moon week! We will study the ways the moon changes this week and have some fun activities with second grade at our extra meetings!

First Grade Week 28

May 3-7

We are adding some fun activities to our theme this week! I look forward to seeing your recipes, experiments an other work! Do you have a favorite Star Wars character for May the 4th?

First Grade Week 27

April 26-30

I hope you had a nice break! We will listen to more Cinder stories this week and Mrs. Oliver will substitute on Thursday and Friday at 10:00.

First Grade Week 26

April 12-16

We will continue our study of plants this week and we will add Cinder stories to our fairytale theme. We will also have some fun using maps to find where in the world the stories take place. Check out the new cooking video too-we will try to use all of the parts of a plant to make a snack!

First Grade Week 25

April 5-9

We will begin to learn about plants and read a few different fairytales this week!

First Grade Week 24

March 29- April 2

It is Little Red Riding Hood Week! You will help Red by making a clear map for her to follow the next time she goes on a trip!

First Grade Week 23

March 22-26

It is Three Little Pigs Week! You need to build 3 small houses out of the popsicle sticks and straws from your supply kit and a 'brick' house out of supplies at home by our Friday meetings to get ready for our Lab Experiment!

Week 22 3/15 First Grade

March 15-19

You have new supply sets. We will begin to study Fairy tales this week with Goldilocks and the Three Bears stories. Start to notice what features many fairy tales have in common!

First Grade Weeks 21 & 22

March 3-13

I hope everyone had a nice break! This slide show of work is for the next week and a half. You will use the last packet in your folder. We will begin a new chapter book together!

First Grade Week 20

February 15-19

We will finish up our bird study together this week. The 100th day of school is also on Tuesday. Wednesday many of you are joining me at school for a winter fun day!

It is our new semester! We will meet in the mornings with the second grade for the next couple of weeks AND begin check in meetings with Mrs. Cusimano.

It is our last week of the first semester! We will listen to a story about Martin Luther King Jr. and another Jan Brett story.

This week we will begin to study books by the author Jan Brett. You also have time to work on your literacy projects for Mrs. Oliver so there are fewer assignments/ options each day to give you time to finish!

Some of the new offerings are in google classroom this week. Go to your child's gmail and join the class. They will be able to get in through Mrs. Cusimano's Clever once they've joined through email. The slide show is also there!

Week Four Suggested Schedule

This week we are focusing on coming to class meetings and trying to log into Clever to access our online portals to learning websites.

Please remember that any time there is a pretest for a new website your child must do it on their own. If you give them answers the adaptive programming will not work and it will not inform our teaching so that we can plan lessons around what our students need most. Thanks so much for your help with this!

First Grade Schedule

This is a sample schedule for what you could do this week. Class meetings are the one must do this week. Please email me if you cannot make it each day. The work schedule is very flexible! The work is in your Week 3 packet. Please consider this a guide-if it feels like too much, skip an activity, if it isn't enough add in a journal writing activity from the pink calendar.
