Hello families of 8th Grade Students,

I want to tell you about a special, heartwarming tradition for all eighth graders. It’s called The Green Envelope Project and it’s a way for our families, teachers, staff, and community to share joy and appreciation for each and every one of our students who are Moving Up to high school.

Please keep this a surprise until it is revealed at their 8th-grade celebration.

We ask that you share letters and well wishes in the form of cards, poems, and pictures (whatever might be special for your child) on or before Monday, June 13. Please note that the envelope is 8 1/2 X 11.

Other important people in your child’s life, such as coaches, grandparents, clergy, neighbors, and family friends should submit something too! You are also welcome to write notes to other 8th grade students you know and care about.

Drop off letters during school hours at the main office or mail it to me. The address is:

WMS Green Envelopes

℅ (YOUR student’s name)

60 Normand Street

Winooski, VT 05404

Students will receive their Green Envelope at the 8th-grade celebration on Thursday, June 16th.

This year, the eighth grade celebration will be in person at the WSD Main Gym at 5:45pm. The celebration will followed by the middle school dance.

If you have additional questions or prefer to email notes and well wishes, please email me at aspencer@wsdvt.org

Thank you,
