WSD has partnered with the Allied Health Sciences Program to offer students of Wentzville the opportunity to earn a Certified Pharmacy Technician Certificate while in high school. If you think you would be a good candidate for this program please complete this application.
One-semester course
In-person instruction: Monday & Tuesday, 8:00–10:30 a.m.
Independent/self-study: Wednesday–Friday
Includes hands-on lab work and job-shadowing opportunities
Prepare medications for patients
Package and label medications
Prepare compounded medications
Gain experience in hospital, retail, private, and long-term care pharmacy settings
The following are requirements and commitments students and families agree to as participants in the Pharmacy Technician Program. This program prepares students for postsecondary certification and professional healthcare environments.
Students must:
Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (or be within close range)
Students slightly below a 2.5 GPA may be considered if they are demonstrating improvement and are on track to graduate
Be on track to graduate
Be in good standing with WSD for the 2025–2026 school year
Students must have a 95% attendance rate at their home school
Extenuating circumstances will be considered*
Students must maintain a 95% attendance rate while enrolled in the Pharmacy Technician Program
Students who fall below a level where a 95% attendance in the CNA Program average is no longer attainable will be removed from the program
Students are expected to exhibit professional behavior at all times, including:
Respectful communication with instructors, peers, and clinical partners
Limited and appropriate phone use
Adherence to program policies and professional healthcare standards
Demonstrating accountability and responsibility
Failure to meet professional behavior expectations may result in removal from the program.
Students must be able to provide their own transportation from the Pharmacy Technician Program site back to their home high school daily
