Me: I was born and raised in O'Fallon, Missouri where I graduated from High School. Then I went to what was then called Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg and graduated in 2000 with my Bachelors in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I began my teaching that year as a reading intervention teacher, then taught 4th grade for 6 years before becoming a librarian. I received my library K-12 certification in 2009. I also have my Masters in Instructional Technology from Mizzou.
Family: Joey and I have been married for 13 years. He also grew up in O'Fallon and we attended the same middle school and high school. We parted ways at graduation only to reconnect 12 years later. We now have 2 kids. Owen is 12 and in sixth grade and Alex (Alexandria) is 9 and in fourth grade.
Pet: We got Skye in February 2019 when she was 9 weeks old. She is a tiny black mutt who's equal parts Cocker Spaniel, Miniature Schnauzer, Pomeranian and Shiba Inu.
Books: I love Mo Willems Elephant and Piggie books, The Giver by Lois Lowry and anything by Patricia Polacco, James Ponti, Alan Gratz, Mary Downing Hahn, April Henry or Margaret Peterson Haddix. My favorite genres are Historical Fiction and Science Fiction.
Sports: I love watching my kids play soccer and baseball. I also love to watch Blues Hockey.
Hobbies: Reading, Movies, researching family history, and creating things with my Cricut.
