School based physical therapy
School based physical therapy is a special education related service whose primary purpose is to develop the skills and abilities needed for a student to be successful at school through improved functional gross motor skills, mobility, and environmental adaptations. When physical disabilities, developmental delays, or other special needs are present, assistance may be needed at school to help the student perform school tasks to the best of his/her ability. Physical therapists identify the needs and provide assistance by recommending changings in the classroom, monitoring the use of specialized/adaptive equipment, or helping the child develop motor skills to be successful in the educational environment. We strive to help maximize the function and indepence of your child at school, helping them to participate in greater opportunities to play with their peers and learn as a result.
