With only three returning and one new Grade 12 player, the Windsor Park Royals are a young but very talented team. The grade 12 players were an integral part of the varsity team’s success last season and the grade 11 players were all big contributors to their team’s success at the JV level.
After being classified as a AAA school in the past, for the first time Windsor Park is looking forward to playing as a AAAA school.
The WPC Royals have a deep roster with all players ready to run and take on the challenge that any team may present to them. The team plays at a fast pace, plays a very physical game and moves the ball quickly. The team has very active shooters and is as comfortable working the ball down low or shooting from the outside regardless of any defense that their opponents play.
Last year, the current grade 12’s on the WPC Varsity team had their share of success with a tournament win and a conference regular game season record with only one loss. The current grade 11’s on this year’s team were impressive in their Junior Varsity season. With multiple first place tournament wins, the season was capped off by becoming the AAA Provincial Champions.
This season, the team is looking forward to facing two major challenges :
Playing at the AAAA level for the first time
Being a team made up of mostly grade 11 players.
The goal of the team is to be competitive at all times, even in the face of these challenges! With their skill, speed and depth, they’ll be formidable opponents.
