The Vincent Massey Vikings only have 3 returning players from last year Josh Romanik, Naz and Nat Babisso. The rest of the team are new upcoming players who have done well to establish themselves into the groups new team identity. The addition of Knox Smith, Markus Stevenson, Callum Brosseau, and Edyne Sankoh has significantly strengthened the foundation of our basketball team, bringing a blend of skill, determination, and versatility. Knox Smith’s leadership and scoring ability have quickly made him a key offensive threat, with his sharp shooting and court vision creating opportunities for his teammates. Markus Stevenson adds dynamic athleticism and playmaking, able to break down defenses with his ball-handling and finish around the rim. Callum Brosseau brings an aggressive offensive style, attacking the basket with confidence and creating scoring opportunities both inside and out. On the defensive side, Edyne Sankoh has emerged as a standout specialist, with his relentless energy and ability to lock down opposing players, providing a strong backbone for the team’s defense. This core, combined with the depth of the entire team, ensures that every player is capable of stepping up when needed, allowing the team to play with confidence and consistency across all areas of the game.
The Vincent Massey Vikings team plays a fast-paced, balanced style focused on teamwork and smart decision-making. With several players who are capable shooters and others who can drive past defenders, they aim to create opportunities both from the outside and in the paint. The team’s guards and wings are comfortable shooting from long range, helping to stretch the defense and open up passing lanes. Ball handlers are quick and skilled at getting to the basket, looking to finish strong or create chances for teammates. While they may not rely on one single style of play, their ability to shoot and attack the rim allows them to stay competitive and keep opponents on their heels.
