The Makerspace provides a way for students to apply their learning in a hands-on way. Students have access to equipment such as 3D printers, a laser engraver, vinyl cutter and heat press, 3D pens, STEM kits, and more.
Currently the space is open for core and essentials classroom collaboration during the school day, and after-school MakerClub on Wednesdays. If you are interested in using the space or looking for ways to connect projects to classroom content, reach out to Flexible Pathways Coordinator Andy West (awest@wrvsu.org) or Ms. Bertolini (cbertolini@wrvsu.org).
Use Cuttle.xyz to create your design for the laser engraver or the vinyl cutter. The laser engraver can be used to engrave and cut on wood and glass. Get started with your own design, or use one of the templates provided. Students have made keychains, puzzles, boxes, signs, and more! The vinyl cutter can be used to make t-shirt and sweatshirt designs. When you are finished with your design in Cuttle, click File-> export SVG, and then submit your to the Google Form below.
If you would like to create your own design for the 3D printer, login to Tinkercad below. If you are looking for inspiration or templates, check out Thingiverse to find designs that others have created and shared.
Join us after school on Wednesdays for MakerClub! This is an open time to experiment with the equipment and materials, and follow your creative vision.
Reach out to Ms. Bertolini at cbertolini@wrvsu.org to find out about the club schedule and openings.
