The Bethel Elementary and White River Valley Middle School libraries' vision is to provide a safe and welcoming center for the school community where all students can develop the necessary skills to become life-long learners, curious creators, critical thinkers, conscientious citizens, and enthusiastic readers throughout the educational careers and beyond.
The Bethel Elementary and White River Valley Middle School libraries' mission is to promote information and digital literacy, and to provide the tools needed to access information in the 21st Century. The libraries strives to curate diverse collections, provide equitable access to materials, maintain a welcoming space for students to explore their intersts and share their ideas, and to foster a sense of collaboration with students, families, and teachers as we guide and support students to become life-long learners and readers.
Ms. Bertolini is the librarian for Bethel Elementary and White River Valley Middle Schools, and serves students in preschool through eighth grade. She has studied English and Library & Information Science at the University of Iowa and currently at the University of Vermont. At school you can find her connecting with students in both libraries and in the Makerspace. Cassandra is originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin, and enjoys hiking, traveling, and talking about books with readers of all ages. Please reach out to her with any questions at cbertolini@wrvsu.org.
The libraries are open on school days from 8am - 3pm, and after school by appointment. Ms. Bertolini splits her time between both spaces, and you can generally find her in the Middle School library from 8-11:30am and the Elementary Library from 11:30am-3pm. However, your library is open for self-checkout at any time throughout the day for both students and staff. Please find the self-checkout instructions for WRVMS here and Bethel ES here.
If you would like to reserve the WRV Middle School library for a class, after-school club, or staff meeting, please make a reservation here.
