Library Checkout FAQs

Q: How many books can I have checked out from the library? 

A: Students are encouraged and able to check out one new book at their weekly library visit. You are not required to return your book from the previous week in order to check out a new book. 5 books (one of which can be a Playaway audiobook) is the limit that a student may have checked out at one time. If a student reaches this limit, I’ll ask that they keep their next check outs in their teacher’s classroom, just until they can return or replace their previous loans. 

Q: When are books due? 

A: Books are due back after two weeks. We do not assess late fees, but we do encourage you to return books regularly so that other readers can enjoy them! 

Q: What happens if a book is lost or damaged? 

A: Please communicate with Ms. Bertolini if a book is lost or damaged! Sometimes, I am able to repair books, so please bring it back whenever possible. If a book is completely lost or damaged beyond repair there are two options:

1. Provide a replacement copy of the same book, or the funds for the library to purchase a new copy

2. Donate a similar, gently used book as a replacement
