TeenTober is an initiative from the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) that encourages teens to visit their library in October to discover media in all forms, technology, games, STEAM activities, and more.

During Bear Blocks throughout the month of October in the WRHS Learning Commons students explore activities in Computer & Information Literacy, Research & Writing, Technology & Gaming, and Art & Music.

Week 1 LITERACY: On display and on-line, our collection of the most NOTORIOUS BANNED BOOKS being censored! (https://www.ala.org/bbooks/banned)
Week 2 RESEARCH: Checkout the many Online Databases in our Digital Library for research.
ATTENTION TEACHERs: This may be a good time for students to get a hands-on session customized for your class and their semester % project.
Week 3 TECHNOLOGY & GAMES: Explore ALL the engaging Maker Space activities available to you. OR unplug with a friend and play a board game.
Week 4 ART & MUSIC: Experience the many facets from El Día de los Muertos
As Hispanic Heritage Month CONTINUES (September 15th - October 15th), Students can explore Paper Circuits and create an interactive calaverita, or skull, for the Dia de Los Muertos celebration. This Mexican holiday is where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives with ofrendas (Offerings) that include food, drink and celebration.
