In order to schedule your appointment we will need pictures of your unit/fireplace, and pictures of your roof/chimney. Please include those in the booking request
At every appointment we clean out the flue and fireplace system then inspect the unit inside of your home, the internal chimney system, and the exposed chimney on top of your home to ensure the chimney is safe to use and sealed from the outside.
Every pellet stove is unique and we take our time to understand each one
We find the model and serial number. This helps us better understand each unit and order any replacement parts if necessary
We check clearance to combustibles and hearth protection per the manufacture recomendation
We clean out the hopper of all pellets and inspect to ensure all components are working properly
We test the unit for error codes and clear out the issues with technical support
We clean out the firebox and inspect for any damages
We inspect the connections and vent for areas smoke could enter the home
We check the gaskets and baffle system to see if they need to be replaced
We take a close look at all of the wiring and control boards to make sure everything is working as it should
On the outside we inspect
Your venting and clearance inside of the chase
The crown condition for any areas water could enter
The chimney cap to ensure it is properly connected to the liner and is clear of any blockages
The flashing & storm collar for any area water could penetrate
We clean the creosote off the lining of the chimney
We make sure the chimney is properly supported and the correct height
The presence of moss or mildew on the chimney, this could mean the structure is holding water leading to leaks
Your cricket to make sure water is being diverted away from the chimney properly
Once we know the unit is safe to use
We scrape the glass clean making it look like new
We feed pellets through the system, watching to see if the right amount of pellets is fed and there are no abnormal sounds
We watch the unit burn making sure the ashes are pushed away as normal
Ensure the unit is properly venting and releasing smoke from the home
If repairs are needed we will send you an estimate for repairs as quickly as possible. If there are immediate concerns please let us know ahead of time.
