The reason we care about the effects of the rats is because they infest homes and eat holes in walls. they also eat and contaminate 20% of the crops grown Worldwide. rats will eat a lot of the plants in the world getting rid of food the noninvasive species need to live causing the ecosystem to eventually collapse this is killing a lot of species of plants and animals from an area causing biodiversity to go down
Negative and positive effects of rats in the ecosystem
positive effects. they balance the ecosystem by placing seeds which grow up into trees as well as being a source of food for many animals
Negative effects:
rats caused the extinction of 40-60% of all extinct species
