some of the ways humans are trying to kill rats are pesticides that can harm the environment around them too so these are not a good long term solution. using cats could be the best thing we have but that's not really good what happens if they escape they would be introduced into the environment replacing the problem. a good way alberta found is a lot of exterminators with dedicated zones to kill the rats because of this alberta is the only place rat free. what you can do spread info on the problem like this website by putting up poster making your own website or something else just spread the info and maybe it will spread to other people that want to do the same.
