• Tier 2 and Tier 3 resources contained in the WRDSB’s Mathematics Long Range Plans (LRPs) have been created by WRDSB educators (Math Facilitators), for WRDSB educators. If you find a potential error in any resources, we encourage you to email the appropriate Math Facilitator team to address the potential error (see list below).

• Educators are encouraged to frequently revisit the WRDSB’s Mathematics LRPs for the most updated content.

Planning for a Grade 3/4 Split

As we are all keenly aware, teaching a Grade 3/4 split is uniquely challenging as it stretches accross two divisions. To support your planning, the above Grade 3/4 Scope & Sequence aligns all Tier 1 topics to ensure you are teaching the same strand to all students at the same time, while targeting their specific grade-level expectations. While Tier 2 does not have the same perfect alignment, this document provides a helpful visual of the Tier 2 topics occuring simultaneoously.

Since each grade requires distinct, grade-level learning opportunities, there continues to be no combined Grade 3/4 instructional content. Instead, please use this Scope & Sequence document as your roadmap, and continue to reference the individual Grade 3 and Grade 4 Long-Range Plans to pull the specific, grade-appropriate lessons and tasks for each group of learners.
