The Visual Arts Department provides an avenue for all students, regardless of talent or experience, to express their individuality and creativity. Participating in these classes gives you the opportunity to work with the community in a variety of outside-of-school events. These include our annual carved pumpkin display, holiday window painting, and curriculum showcase as well as collaboration opportunities with the Arts Collaborative of Wakefield.
You do NOT have to be an 'amazing artist' to take an art class. If you enjoy making art, take it! You will learn, practice, and improve - just like a sport, instrument, or any other interest you may have!
ps. More than half of WMHS is currently enrolled in a Visual Arts course! You won't regret it, and we can't wait to see what you create.
