Connectivity Problems?

As a security precaution, only a clean machine will be allowed to connect to the wireless network at Payton. Connectivity problems often occur because high-risk activity is detected on your machine. Below are some common culprits which may be causing connectivity issues on your computer.

  • Proxy Software allows a user to circumvent the CPS content filters and will result in connectivity problems on our network. Any proxy software must be uninstalled - not just disabled. Some proxies are installed as browser extensions, but others may be installed as software on your operating system. Be sure to remove both.
  • Bit-torrent Software can be used for downloading movies, music, etc. If bit-torrent activity is detected, the device will be blocked from the network. You will need to disable or remove any bit-torrent software from your computer.
  • Kaspersky AntiVirus: The latest versions of Kaspersky AntiVirus tunnels some internet traffic in a manner that is flagged by CPS network security systems resulting in a internet block on your device. Kaspersky antivirus should be removed and replaced with another solution, such as Avast!, AVG, etc.
