  • Your device must meet the hardware requirements listed to the left.
  • Make sure that you have Google Chrome browser installed, as our curricula platform requires it.
  • You will need to install antivirus software on your Windows laptop. At this time, Kaspersky Anti-Virus is not supported on the CPS network and will result in internet connectivity problems. Instead, we recommend the free solution, Avast! AntiVirus. Please note that many of the free antivirus solutions on the market are just as effective as paid solutions. AV-Comparatives is an independent organization that tests the efficacy of antivirus solutions and may help you choose which is best for you.

Compliance tests:

  1. System Requirements: Check that you have a compliant version of Windows and enough RAM by following these steps.
  2. Boot-up: Fully shut down your laptop (a full shutdown; do not sleep or hibernate). Using a stopwatch, turn your computer back on, and allow Windows to boot up. Log in to Windows and open Chrome web browser. Navigate to google.com. After the page finishes loading, stop your timer. If you're able to complete this task in under 3 minutes, your device has passed the test!
  3. Battery: This test takes some time, so you may need to schedule this one during a longer session of use. Fully charge your laptop battery to 100%. Unplug your charger and steadily use your laptop for 15 minutes. Activities such as web research and/or typing an assignment are best for this test. Be sure to close any games or other resource intensive programs as they will skew your results. After 15 minutes, click the battery icon in the system tray. If it displays at least 3 more hours remaining, your device passed the test!
