Provide opportunities to engage in activities that increase knowledge of career options (eg. career fairs, tours, job shadowing and use of technology to explore choices). Enhance informed decision-making.
Engage students in activities that provide the opportunity to develop an awareness of career options such as industry tours, guest speakers and career fairs & activities that provide opportunities for more in-depth first hand exposure to specific career pathways such as job shadows & and educational requirements.
*One Career Awareness & Exploration activity is required for a Middle School WAI student to be considered served.
On and/or off-campus activities designed to make students aware of the broad range of careers and/or occupations in the world of work. These activities are typically occasional experiences that may include field trips, guest speakers, and career fairs, conducting interviews with employees and/or employers and career research using career information, internet and/or computer information systems.
Exploration activities designed to provide more in-depth exposure to career options for students. They are of longer duration (2 hours to one semester).
