Our Work So Far

Public engagement has been a vital component of the merger process from the beginning. Below is more information about how our two districts have worked to keep district residents informed and engaged throughout this process:

What We're Doing Now

To inform the shared commitments outlined by the Boards of Education, the Schenevus and Worcester superintendents have been working with students, staff and the community to learn and share information throughout the fall of 2021:

Students

  • Schenevus and Worcester superintendents have surveyed students in both buildings and met with Student Council representatives

  • A survey of alumni is planned. A report will be shared when it becomes available.

Staff

  • Meetings have been held with faculty and staff in both districts

  • Committees are to be formed as early as December 2021 if merger moves forward

Community

  • An exit survey was conducted in connection with the September 2021 straw poll

  • Merger information continues to be shared via newsletters, website updates and social media

  • A public forum is scheduled for Nov. 16
