GET A HEAD START AND SIGN UP FOR A FREE COLLEGE COURSE:

You recently received an email and letter to your home informing you about an amazing opportunity for First-Year students. As your high school career has come to an end, Worcester State is excited and ready to help you open the door to your next academic journey.

In an effort to connect with you and ensure your academic success, Worcester State University is offering First-Year students a free, 3-credit course during our Summer II session. It is called ED 191: LANCER LEARNING. The course will be offered online and in a flexible format that will suit any summer plans you may have. The course is asynchronous, meaning it does not virtually meet at a specific time each week. You will be able participate in this course in a variety of ways to complete assignments, connect with faculty and also engage with current WSU students.  This course is considered college level credit and will count towards your path to graduation.

Course details and information:

We are hoping this experience will help you to get acquainted with the college experience before the fall semester. Our faculty will work to give you a preview of college expectations in the classroom. They will provide learning tools and assist you with any academic or personal barriers to your college success. You will have the opportunity to develop a close relationship with professors and administrators as well as with other WSU students. We are certain that this free, 3-credit course will give you the confidence and self-assuredness that you need to begin your first semester at Worcester State.

How to register:

STEP 1: Complete this google form to enroll in the course. The deadline for enrollment is Friday July 3. We hope that you take this opportunity to get connected to Worcester State even before your fall 2020 semester begins!

STEP 2: Attend a virtual Welcome Event for enrolled students during the week of July 6th. At this event, you will learn how to log in to BlackBoard (an online system where your grades and assignments are posted), review course expectations and meet our faculty.
