Executive Committee

The Executive Committee consists of the Officers of the Music Parents Association:

President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Communications Chairperson, Concessions Chairperson, and Uniform Chairperson.

Apparel Sale

The Apparel Sale Chair will work with Designwear to offer different types of apparel and items to the families of music students and the community showcasing  the famous script WOO. The apparel chair will organize the sale from beginning to end. The chair processes orders, both paper and online, and then orders the product from the vendor. The chair is responsible for working with the Treasurer to submit cash and checks for deposit and to secure final payment to the vendor. Once the apparel comes in, you will then be responsible for sorting the orders and dispersing them to the shoppers through the school music programs.

Concessions

Do you enjoy the atmosphere of Friday Night Lights? Do you wish you could be part of something that provided comfort to the hungry spectators of the game? The aroma of fresh popcorn, nachos, pizza, coffee, and hot chocolate will draw you to the brick building with the open windows at Follis Field. As a music parent organization, we operate the concession stand as part of fundraising efforts to support the students. On Friday football evenings we typically need 15-18 volunteers to “orchestrate” this group. We also assist in ordering and inventory for other Fall, Winter, and Spring athletic events. Whether you want to donate a few hours on a Friday night or you prefer to participate in more of the year-round activities, we have something for you!

Fundraising

This committee works to plan and implement fundraising opportunities. In the past, fundraisers have included the citrus sale and the greenery sale:

The Holiday Greenery Sale: This pre-sale fundraiser has been launched in October and includes items such as evergreen wreaths, door sprays, table centerpieces and more.  The greenery arrives around Thanksgiving and is to be delivered to customers by the students. For volunteer opportunities, we need 3-4 people to help with collecting and sorting student order forms, 1-2 people creating/finalizing wreath order, and 1-2 people to help with marketing and social media. We will also need 15-20 people to help on order pick up day!

This Citrus sale has been held in January. Responsibilities include: oversee contacting our fruit representative to setup the fundraiser, preparing the flyers and materials needed for the students, making posters for the school, preparing a presentation for the students at the start, facilitating money turn in day with volunteers, and organizing delivery and Pickup Day with student and parent volunteers.

Alumni Chair

The Alumni Chair would help establish and maintain an alumni database, assist in publishing an annual newsletter about department events, help plan events that include alumni, and update the music website for all participating alumni.

Band Camp and Orchestra Camp Liaison

Camps are held during the summer before school begins. Liaisons would work with student leaders and directors to provide logistical support, such as building a team of parent volunteers for an event or purchasing supplies for students.

Pancake Breakfast

The Pancake Breakfast is an annual fundraiser that is held in December before the Tuba Christmas Concert. Students sell tickets for the breakfast and raise money for future trips. Volunteer opportunities include: Pre-planning and purchasing of supplies and food; setting-up;  cooking and serving during the breakfast; and tearing down after the event.

Receptions Chair

After each concert we would like to provide a cookie reception for the students and their families. We are looking for 1-2 people per group (Band, Orchestra, Choir) to organize the receptions. This includes setting up a Sign Up Genius (This is provided for you!) to solicit cookie donations and recruit volunteers, setting out refreshments, and cleaning up the reception.

Uniform Committee

The Uniform Committee is responsible for organizing, distributing, maintaining, and collecting uniforms for all music department groups (8-12 grades) throughout the year. Signups for individual events will be available.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Webmaster

The Webmaster would work with the Communications Chair to update the Music Department website and social media accounts on a consistent basis.
