Year 5

Year 5 embarked upon a project of study all about Pitts Wood. Children learned about using different lines to show texture and how to use perspective. The students were then shown how to make a landscape painting by working in stages and using brushes of different thicknesses.

Year 5 also used photographed self portraits and manipulated these with markers and collage.

Lockdown 3 began on our return to school in January, however we kept everyone very busy with our onlinelearning, weekly art lessons were set for year groups. Year 5 created Tudor artwork based around their Theme Sovereigns and Servants.

What do you think of our Tudor dolls? These were made from empty plastic bottles, tissue paper, masking tape and fabric. Can you see Henry V111?

Inspired by The Tudor Rose, we created these two colour poly prints.

When we returned to school after The Easter break Year 5 began studying The Ancient Greeks.

In their art lessons children learned how to proportion a figure correctly, this would assist them in their next task- designing and making a Greek inspired vase decorated with images from Greek mythology.
