Into the woods!

Year 2 made clay woodland animals in their art lessons.

Children made pen drawings of found woodland objects.

Around The World In Art

Year 2 are finding out about art and craft from different countries. We started by looking at The South Pacific Island craft of Tapa. Children then designed their own Tapa using lines.

Islamic paterned tiles are found all over the world, in Year 2 we made ours from clay, pressed patterns in and painted.

We looked at The Willow Pattern and made our own using elements from the story.

We looked at henna patterns or mendhi and designed our own.

Year 2 have been finding out about texture, we made rubbings to show great examples.

Year 2 are finding out about castles and dragons in their art lessons. We began by making line drawings of dragons.

Next we made textured rubbings to create dragon heads.

As part of their Castles and Dragons Theme Year 2 found out about The Battle of Hastings all through the amazing Bayeux Tapestry. We spent some weeks drawing and painting scenes. Here are two examples.
