I was responsible for the hiring and supervision of an EA, creating and management of the school budget, creating the school aligned calendar and schedule, as well as all purchasing for the building.
the additional responsibilities of planning and running PD/CRM meetings and attending Admin Association meetings. Also, during the that time, the mandate of 907 instruction hours came into effect. This posed a challenge for our colony schools as there are not additional staff to allow for prep time during the day. I prepared and presented a proposal for a solution on behalf of all of the colony staff. My grade team partner and I were talking and thought it would a great idea to allow students the ability to choose their own Options courses in grades 4 trhough 6, so I made the proposal to our principal. She accepted and I suggested we use Google forms with ChoiceElimator as a means of selection. We successfully ran Options this was this past year and the students loved it. Unfortunately, COVid caused our mixed class options to be put on hold for a couple of years, but once everything was safe again, we once again began implementing choice. We've had to adapt the way we do the selections, but overall, the program still runs the same way.
