Historical Fiction ~ Photo Album
Imagine that you are a photojournalist who took photographs of everything in your book. Choose four (4) of these “photos” to include in a photo album. The photos should show the most important people, places, events, or objects from the story. You will draw or recreate the photos and write a caption for each picture.

Directions: Check off as you complete each required element.
Find a historical fiction book that interests you and is at an appropriate reading level. Have the book approved by your teacher. Books must be in school on the due date to receive full credit.
Choose four (4) of the most interesting or important people, places, or events from your book. You must draw two of your “photos” and may draw or recreate the other two. To recreate means to take an actual photo of a person, place, or event that you have created. For example – create a battle scene from the Civil War using clay or Lego blocks, and then take a picture of it.
Write a caption for each of your “photos”. They should describe what is being shown and why it is so important to the story. You must use at least one vocabulary word in each of the captions. Each caption MUST have at least 3- 4 sentences.
On a sheet of 12x12 paper, create a photo page. On the top front write the book title, author, and your name. You will use the front of the page only. Think, “Scrapbooking”.
Design, decorate, and glue (no tape!!) the photos and captions on the page. Pay close attention to the layout-nothing should “hang off” the page. Again, think “Scrapbooking”
Make sure your project is NEAT and COLORFUL.
Check spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
The project must be in school on the due date to receive full credit!
