Mr. Vallejo is in his 17th year as a music educator, having taught at Austin I.S.D, PSJA I.S.D and Weslaco I.S.D. An elementary music teacher, his focus was on building musicianship in PK-5 students. Through several ensembles, including choir and mariachi, his students performed throughout the communities and for various school events. A french horn player, Mr. Vallejo will be working with the Weslaco Panther Corps and Central Middle School high brass students. His goal is to promote music literacy, challenge students to reach their full potential as musicians and build a sense of camaraderie among his students so that their band experience makes a positive impact in their lives.
Mr. Vallejo received his Bachelor of Music degree with an All-Level K-12 Teacher certification as well as a Kodaly Method Certification from Texas State University. A french horn player, Mr. Vallejo has been a member of the Texas State Bobcat Marching Band, Texas State Orchestra, Texas State Wind Ensemble, and Texas State Horn Cats Ensemble.
His professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity.
Mr. Vallejo resides in Weslaco with his wife, three children, and the family dog.
