Airport Elementary uses the PANORAMA Survey to assess student needs and target essential skills. Airport elementary has successfully promoted growth in the areas of grit, self-management, and self-efficacy, and our focus will now shift to growth mindset and emotional regulation.
The Counseling Advisory Council committee ensures the effectiveness of our Comprehensive School Counseling Program. Meeting monthly, to coordinate lessons and establish social-emotional learning goals based on PANORAMA surveys. In response to survey results and feedback, we have implemented weekly social-emotional lessons utilizing District Guidance Curriculum, Leader in Me curriculum and Second Step curriculum.

Based on Panorama, these are our top Identified Needs: (Winter (Spring) 2023 and Spring 2024)
Improve student Social Awareness from 55% to 60% using social awareness, feelings and social skills guidance lessons using Panorama, District Guidance curriculum, Leader in Me and Second Step lessons.
Improve student knowledge and use of Social Emotional Skill by teaching lessons from Panorama, Second Step and Leader in Me.
Student Outcome Data
An increase from 55% to 58% of students were able to identify Social Awareness based off of the PANORAMA survey due to guidance lessons being taught through Panorama, District Guidance curriculum, Leader in me and Second Step.
1000% of students completed Social Emotional Skills weekly Guidance lessons throughout the school year
Student Services should account for at least 80% of the School Counselors time
Individual Planning: By the end of the school year the school counselors would have done the following
Provide continued support to students in need through individual counseling, small group counseling, consultation, or referral to services outside the school or district License Professional Counselors.
Provides Individual & Small Group Counseling
Follow up with students regarding problem solving strategies
Collaborates/consults with stakeholders to address the educational, personal, and social needs of our students
Make referrals to outside mental health agencies, social service agencies, special programs, and district Licensed Professional Counselors.

Design, plan, and implement lessons to address problems of specific groups

College and Career Planning:
By the end of the school year all 5th grade students will have completed lessons in the College and Career readiness workbook.
Guidance and Curriculum: Help all students develop transferable SEL skills relative to their educational, career, personal, and social development.
Provide lessons to students that facilitate growth, development, and transferable skills.
Plan, organize, implement, and deliver structured group lessons according to the district’s guidance curriculum.
Teach the school guidance curriculum components through the use of effective instructional strategies and planned structured groups considering diverse student populations and needs for differentiated instruction.
Work with students, staff, parents or guardians, and the community to identify priorities where students will be served through the guidance curriculum component.
Create a balanced curriculum by using well-planned and intentional activities and materials, incorporating guest speakers, and offering engaging delivery techniques, including technology tools.

Responsive Services & System Supports:
Identify and coordinate resources and activities on campus and in the community that indirectly benefit students.
Participate in campus-based school improvement planning and goal setting.
Clearly articulate and communicate the counseling program’s management system and related program action plans to campus and district staff, parents or guardians, and the community.
Participate in staff development and continuing education opportunities to improve job-related skills and research to identify best practices in implementing a comprehensive school counseling program.
Consult with the teachers, administrators, students, and other stakeholders
Advocate on behalf of students’ academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs
