Better

together

You(th) all belong

Wisconsin 4-H engages youth, adults and communities in both direct programming and as changemakers to improve our communities through policy, systems and environmental initiatives. In short, we learn, we act and we share our voices.

In partnership with individuals and organizations, youth lead to DO-REFLECT-APPLY with an equity focus in both in person and virtual learning spaces.

It is too common for diversity, equity and inclusion efforts to be exclusively for adults. With opportunity and a little vocabulary, you(th) can find your 'spark' and lead.

The role of a supportive adult is identified over and over as THE biggest asset in a youth's life. And, it takes practice.

Formal and informal efforts in Rock County engage in youth and diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, but not always together. Explore resources on these initiatives here. Some have intersections and some challenge you to find your own new spaces for connection!

They include the Current Conversations Program and the Diverse Book Read Challenge originally entitled "Not Invisible, Ink-Credible". Rock County credit is owed to the original partnership with Hedberg Public Library and the "Storytime Around the World" program as well as the opportunity to pilot activities in on site library multicultural programming and neighborhood outreach via the Bookmobile.
