In this session you will have a chance to explore and touch the earth. The presenters have passion for geology and will share a sample of their collection and knowledge. Much like people, rocks portray different personalities and come from different backgrounds.....some have luster, others are dense, some have magnetic personalities, while others show ripples. Come see what traits you might share with rocks!!!

Use community activities as stepping-stones to meet your goals for 4-H promotion. We will use wildlife/forestry art, Kits-To-Go Activity Boxes, portable archery range, fish-pond casting, face painting, animal balloons, and much more. Get tips on recruiting helpers. Another community activity option is wearing your 4-H shirt and helping at the local farmer's market. The real goal is to recruit new 4-H families, give youth leaders experience opportunities, and get more adult volunteer leaders.
Norb & Barb Yogerst, Washington County 4-H Shooting Sports Instructors

Would you like to learn some new activities to use at your club meetings? You can learn leadership skills through games! You’ll learn by doing and rotate through small groups where you’ll pick up some new game ideas that will help boost your club’s recreation time!
Burke Sprangers, WLC Member & WLC Youth and Adult Members
Location: Expo 1 & 2
Adults who volunteer with young people, care about young people. One way to show we care is to give help and support when someone is feeling down. That’s what the Supporting Youth Mental Health for Volunteers Training—Supporting YMH, for short—is all about: knowing how to support youth when they’re down, whether it’s simply a bad day or it’s more than that.
The full Supporting YMH training has two parts:1-hour online training and a 2-hour live training—offered virtually or in-person. This will qualify as the 2 hour live training.
Through interactive online learning, practice situations, and discussion, participants will learn about:
Volunteers’ important role in supporting youth mental health
Signs and symptoms of a mental health challenge, including suicidal ideas or attempts
Simple skills and strategies to build trusting relationships and talk to a youth who is struggling
Roles, responsibilities, and resources for volunteers who support youth
Megan Suehring, Shawano County 4-H Educator
Location: Trillium
This workshop will explore patterns and texture. We'll start by doing a paper weaving worksheet that explores patterns beyond the basic (over-under) weave. Then we'll explore texture and pattern by weaving on a small, hand-held loom using a variety of natural and synthetic fibers. Participants will be able to take their handheld loom with them.
