Looking for new ideas to add a spark to your Cloverbud project? This workshop will teach ways and opportunities for your club, or county to ensure that your cloverbuds are engaged and excited!

Anything but a Paint Brush

Participants will learn unconventional ways to experiment painting with every day household objects. Each participant will make 2 of their own paintings, as well as learn how to take the lesson back and teach it in their own clubs, communities, schools, etc.

Critter Care, You Care: Using Feathers and Fur to Help Young People Reflect on Their Own Wellness

Animals are a great learning tool for youth! Beyond learning about animal health and care, Critter Care, You Care is a way for youth to connect to an animal, reflect on a particular area of wellness, and then do so in their own life. This technique has been implemented in several in-school and after-school 4-H Programs in Shawano County. Come to experience a lesson, and think about how you might also be able to use animals to continue “Making the Best, Better” in your county.

Line Dancing Fun!

Get ready to move and have some fun! Join WLC members as they share some of their favorite dances! We will teach line dances from the cupid shuffle to footloose. There will be audience participation and active team work. You’ll walk away with some great dances that you can use at camp, dances or other 4-H events!

Making sure that you make a good first impression is important in a lot of ways! Whether it be a 4-H interview, a scholarship interview, job interview or even just meeting new people at school, presenting your best self is really important. The members of the UW-River Falls Collegiate 4-H club will share with you some tips and ideas to be prepared to show off your best self and be comfortable meeting new people!

The Creative Act: A Way of Being

Join Jay Johnson, our 4-H Expressive Arts Specialist for an interactive discussion on Rick Rubin’s ideas on being creative. Rubin is credited in part for the success of mega hits like, Run-DMC’s, “Walk This Way”, Beastie Boys, “You've got to fight for your Right to Party" and Johnny Cash’s, “Hurt”. Whether you are an artist or just want to learn more about the process of being creative, this could be the session for you. Thinking creatively reaches beyond the arts and is a critical aspect of problem solving, design work and even scientific investigation. We can all benefit by thinking like an artist.

Tortillas to Tacos

We'll talk about the history of corn, make corn tortillas and then turn those tortillas into delicious tacos. This will be a hands-on session where we will use corn masa flour to make dough (masa) into tortillas. Join us for delicious food and the amazing history of one of the world's most ubiquitous foods.
