Peanut/Tree Nuts

• We are working to reduce the presence of peanuts and tree nuts.
• We continue to look at the issue of peanuts, tree nuts and nut products in our school to respond to specific student needs.
• There are several students in our school at this time with peanut and/or tree nut allergies.
  • This presents a unique problem at school because these very serious allergies may be triggered by eating these substances, by contacting the oils and/or in some cases through airborne contact.
  • It is important for us to continue to do our best to reduce the presence of peanuts, tree nuts and nut products in the school.

Although we will never be able to totally eliminate nut products from the school, we can work to reduce the quantity of nut products that are present in the school. The cafeteria has made the change to eliminate and/or reduce peanut butter and other nut products in the meals and snacks provided by the café.

• We are asking for your assistance in giving careful consideration to the snacks and meals that you send into school.

If we all work together, we can make this a safer environment for everyone.
