About Miss george

My name is Carly George and I am the new elementary school counselor for the 2019-2020 school year. I am taking over for Ashley Spickler who, as many of you know, is traveling the world on a mission trip for the whole year! Miss Spickler will be returning at the end of this school year. I am thrilled to take on this new challenge, and look forward to all the new experiences we will have together this year!

I graduated with my Master's in School Counseling from National Louis University in June 2019! Before that, I obtained my Bachelor's in Psychology from Rockford University. I completed my graduate school internship at Stillman Valley High School during the whole 2018-2019 school year. Prior to graduate school, I worked for Rosecrance (RGW location) in Rockford. At RGW I worked in the inpatient substance abuse unit with adolescent boys and girls.

I reside in Rockford with my boyfriend and the best dog ever! I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, going to concerts/events, and binge-watching my favorite Netflix shows. I genuinely enjoy helping people, and have a passion for the mental health field as a whole. Because I've only worked with adolescent-aged individuals previously, I'm excited to start this new chapter interacting and building relationships with the kids at Simon & McNair!
