Barrier

Our barrier is saftey to public transportation.  Around the world so many people (mostly women) feel unsafe taking public transportation.  They feel that they will be robbed or harassed, and not just on the train, at the stations too. "I worked as a waitress  carried a lot of cash, I was always scared that someone would try to rob me," said our client. This is not just a problem in America. 62% of French citizens say they sometimes to often feel unsafe taking the metro.  In America more than 60% feel that public transportation is not safe. Around the world two in three women have been harassed on public transportation. So many of them don't feel safe taking public transportation anymore. Our mission is to solve that and make them feel safer!

Our client, Robin, worked as a waitress. There were a lot of sketchy people on the trian that would make her feel unsafe. She would constantly switch trains because she didn't feel safe. Carolers would try to sing right in her face and people would come up to her and ask for money.   She would have a lot of cash on her and was always worried someone was going to take her money. We want to make sure she and everyone else who takes public transportaion feel safer.

This is a graph that shows just alone in Los Angeles and San Jose how many people experience harassment on public transportation.
