Our Process

We have not fully implemented our product yet, but we have all of the materials and the idea to get it implemented. We currently are printing our our model to scale and will have it ready soon to be used as a mold for the silicon to pour over it. However we know that for sure this is a solution that will work well and be effective in implementing because this is an original solution that will work well and is easy to access and implement into your daily life. We also had an idea that this idea along with working well with people born blind, it would also work well for older people that have recently lost there vision, or anyone that maybe was not born blind and became blind. We will implement this by patenting and sell it. We will advertise around our neighborhoods and inform people on how this will work and they should help inform other people themselves. This is also how you can take the next step in solving this problem. You can help inform people on this problem by telling them this barrier that blind people face and saying how they should help, ideate and inform other people on this to.

Community Forum

Our presentation at the community forum went very well. We had good feedback and very constructive feedback that we learned from. Some people said how it would work well and that we should actually take a step further into this solution and that we should sell it. A reason that they were impressed and believe that we should keep pursuing this is because we had good data to back our product up. We made a graph that showed the price of our data compared to others. Our product would cost $20 dollars to buy, while the braille keyboard would cost around $500 to buy, and the refreshable braille display would have costed $7000! We also explained how our product was easier to use than the other because you just lay it over your keyboard and that it is. I think that at the forum what we could have done better is more interactive elements and a brighter colored poster to grab peoples attention to come over and look further into our solution. I also think that we could have planned out a bit more of what we said, because at the beggining I do not believe that our speeches at the begginging were as engaging as it could have been. Overall people gave good feedback at the forum and thought that we should continue to pursue this idea that many of the people were impressed with.
