Connecting is about talking and listening and being there for others.
Positive connections with others can increase our happiness and feelings of self-worth – not just for us but for the person we connect with too!
If you can’t talk face to face with somebody (who doesn’t live with you) get in touch in other ways.
Using video technology such as FaceTime, WhatsApp Video, Skype, Zoom, etc is a great way to have a conversation. If fact, studies show that we have higher levels of happiness if we see somebody – eye contact and body language all help!
You don’t know what other people might be going through during these difficult times so – be patient, understanding and considerate.
If you’re finding managing friendships tricky during this time you can find a student workbook to help here.
We’re all spending more time online at the moment. Information about the different types of technology and advice for parents and students on how to stay safe online during lockdown can be found here.
