Across our family of schools, we believe that good character is the key to future success. We encourage all of our learners to develop and demonstrate a set of values which promote individual respect and responsibility for themselves, their peers and the wider community. We talk about these values through the ASPIRE framework, advocating that these can be taught, caught and sought by all:
These recent challenging times have certainly been a test of character. However, as the world around us begins to adapt to these challenges, we are witnessing honourable acts of kindness, compassion and resilience. This page celebrates these, and aims to inspire all of us to show good character. After all, a bad situation is the best time to be good to one another.

Avneet from Tenterfields Primary Academy has been helping around the house and learning how to bake!
Louis, Toby, Joe, Charlie and Lewis , year 10 students from Cheslyn Hay Academy, have volunteered their services to their local semi-professional football club, helping out at Hednesford Town FC by tidying and painting the grounds so that it is ready for next season.

Millie, Year 8 at Cheslyn Hay Academy, joined her cheerleading team in completing a virtual 5k run to raise money for NHS Charities.
Last week, hundreds of students WAT secondary schools participated in a Character Development Programme, in which they completed a series of research projects and creative challenges on the themes of respect and diversity. In order to encourage others to show compassion, be tolerant and celebrate diversity, they created beautiful works of art and poems, here is just a small sample:

Evan from Tenterfields Primary Academy has completed lots and lots of the Character 50 challenges! In the spirit of supporting his community and showing compassion, he even sorted through his old toys and now has a pile ready to give to charity!

Savannah from Manor Way Primary Academy, helped to deliver food from a food bank to those in need so that they didn’t have to risk going out. If the houses had children staying there too she added some sweets to their bags. She also went to collect lots of milk from Costa in Redditch for the food bank- the car was full!

Over 700 houses and businesses in Great Yarmouth have had their windows cleaned by an anonymous window cleaner, who has left notes saying that he does not want payment... he just wants to help others in these challenging times!
